Forty More Acres

With enrollment exceeding 1000 students and the purchase of an additional 40 acres, Latin continues to thrive.  Instrumental music becomes part of the growing curriculum.

Cooking with Class

Chaired by parents Ellen Knott, Resi Golding and Georgia Miller, Latin’s premier cookbook, Cooking with Class, is published in 1982. Reprinted numerous times, this book can be found in 50 states, on three continents and in the best cooks’ kitchens.

Honor system created as a student initiative

The student council, led by President Michael Hinshaw ‘86, sees the responsibility and opportunity for the student body to incorporate and adopt an honor system made up of two parts - the Honor Code and the newly formed Honor Council.
